Our Amplitude Smooth Anadro Indicator Taper is designed primarily as a nymphing line, but can do much more. Scientific Anglers Ambassadors Landon Mayer and Blane Chocklett both discuss the use of this line in a variety of situations. The head is 60-feet long and allows accurate, distance casting and mending. A short front taper gives easy turnover of heavy indicator rigs and hopper-dropper rigs. It can also be used to throw poppers and streamers if needed. The braided-multifilament core allows use from cold to moderate climates.
The Amplitude Smooth Anadro Indicator Taper is one and a half times overweighted for turning over heavy indicator rigs and excels at roll casting. This also makes it useable to swing streamers for steelhead and salmon on both single-hand and switch rods.
(Hint: Use one line-weight heavy for switch rods). There are two variations of the three-color construction. The stillwater indicator version has alternating hi-viz bands for enhanced strike detection. Having the features found on all Amplitude Smooth lines, the Anadro taper is a versatile line for most any sub-surface application for an assortment of freshwater species.
The Amplitude Smooth series of lines are, simply put, the highest-performance smooth fly lines in the world. With up to five times less drag and eight times the durability of traditional lines, this will change the way you look at fly line performance.
